I’ve long been a nature lover, but in the second half of my life, I’ve realized that urban environments have their own special nature. I enjoy the way light reflects off the buildings and their windows, giving the streets an interesting prism effect. In my illustrations, I enhance the various angles of the city by adding an extra element I call “Neo cubism” which is a way I slice the image up into various contrasting sections. This technique is nothing new, but I thought I’d try my own spin on it and see what I come up with. Each painting that I work on is always a new experiment. Painting’s no fun unless you’re pushing the boundaries.
